Azure DevOps Engineers

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support a major government ICT transformation program. This hands-on role will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining secure, automated software delivery and infrastructure deployment capabilities within a cloud-first Azure environment. Working closely with developers, cloud engineers, solution architects and cyber security specialists, the successful candidate will establish and support DevSecOps practices that enable reliable, scalable and compliant application delivery. The role will play a key part in application migration, modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives across the program . You MUST be an Australian citizen and possess a minimum of an NV1 security clearance to be considered for these role s. You MUST also be able to work in the Canberra office at least 3 days per we ek. Key Responsibilit ies: • Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support secure, automated and repeatable application and infrastructure deploym ents.• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using modern cloud automation pract ices.• Embed DevSecOps controls and automated security validation within delivery pipel ines.• Implement and maintain source control, branching, release management and environment management proce sses.• Develop and support build, deployment and testing automation across multiple applications and environm ents.• Monitor pipeline health, deployment performance and operational metrics to drive continuous improve ment.• Collaborate with cloud, security, networking and application teams to deliver scalable, resilient and compliant solut ions.• Support application migration and modernisation activities through automation and deployment enginee ring.• Troubleshoot and resolve complex build, deployment and environment-related is sues.• Contribute to engineering standards, reusable templates, deployment patterns and platform automation capabili ties. Skills and Exper ience: • Demonstrated experience implementing DevOps and CI/CD practices within large enterprise or government enviro nments.• Strong experience designing and maintaining automated deployment pip elines.• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates or equivalent techno logies.• Experience integrating security, compliance and quality assurance controls into delivery pip elines.• Strong understanding of cloud-native application delivery and operational pra ctices.• Experience working with Agile delivery teams and modern software engineering pra ctices.• Strong troubleshooting, automation and problem-solving skills.• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Technical Skills: Experience across a significant proportion of the following tech nologies: • DevOps & Automation (Azure DevOps, Git, YAML Pipelines, CI/CD Automation, PowerShell, Azure CLI)• Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, Terraform, ARM Templates)• Azure Platform (Azure App Services, Azure Storage, API management, Azure SQL, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)• Security & DevSecOps (Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Azure Policy, Secure Software Development Practices) Desirable Experience: • Application migration and modernisati on programs.• Secure cloud environments aligned to ASD ISM, Essential Eight and Zero Trust principles.• Observability, monitoring and operational engineerin g practices.
