About the Role
Job description:
We are seeking a Data Manager who is an experienced professional responsible for the BAU running of data collection, management, and analysis within our organization. This role involves monitoring and maintaining data accuracy, integrity, and security while developing strategies to optimize data management processes. The role is expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making and provide insights that drive business objectives. The ideal candidate should be abreast of industry trends and advancements in data technology to implement best practices and innovative solutions, ensuring our organization's data infrastructure remains robust and efficient.
Key Responsiblity
Data Oversight: Manage data collection, storage, and systems; ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Strategy & Governance: Run governance and compliance efforts of the data management and AI policies.
Collaboration & Support: Plan and organize train staff on data and AI practices and usage.
Analysis & Reporting: Monitor data usage for insights; support data-driven decision-making.
System Maintenance: Monitor and maintain data platform availability and work with the relevant teams to resolve open issues impacting the data platform.
Leadership: Manage and mentor a data team; prioritize and oversee data-related projects.
Demand Management: Manage book of work for data-related requests and projects
Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in data management or a similar role
Prior experience with data governance, data quality management, and data architecture

1. Technical Expertise
Database systems: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
Data modeling and database design
ETL and data integration tools
Data warehousing and big data technologies
Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
Programming/scripting: Python, R, SQL
2. Data Governance & Compliance
Data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., PDPA)
Data quality and architecture
Certification in data management (e.g., CDMP, DAMA)
3. Analytical & Visualization Skills
Data analysis and interpretation
Visualization tools support: Tableau, Power BI
Attention to detail and high-quality standards
4. Leadership & Collaboration
Cross-functional collaboration with IT, business units, vendors
5. Project & Stakeholder Management
Managing priorities and delivery demands
Piror project management and troubleshooting skills
6. Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Clear, credible, and confident communication

Professional Certification
A certified data management professional (e.g., CDMP, DAMA) is an advantage.
